20/10/2020 - "Timber Circle": unique structure revealed on the Iberian Peninsula
Part of an unprecedented structure in the Iberian Peninsula was identified during an excavation campaign led by ERA at the Perdigões Archaeological Complex. It is a circular enclosure made up of ditches and alignments of large wooden poles, dating from the first half of the 3rd millennium BC.
This structure will continue to be excavated and studied over the next few years, reinforcing Perdigões' role as a ceremonial and aggregating centre.
