04/09/2023 - ERA attends the 2023 European Association of Archaeologists congress
ERA was one of the organizations attending the 2023 EAA, the congress of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), held this year in Belfast from 30 August to 2 September. From our participation, we highlight a session that included two papers related to the "Odyssey Remote Sensing" project, promoted by ERA in consortium with the universities of Aveiro and Maia.
In this session, Rita Dias explained the potential of applying LiDAR technology to the remote detection of cave entrances and other karst phenomena. Marina Lourenço presented the results of our team's research into the archaeological excavation of a vast children's necropolis identified in the former Convent of São Domingos in Lisbon.
It should be noted that ERA is a corporate member of the EAA, which includes a group of some of the most prestigious European institutions in the field of archaeology. Our participation reflects the position of ERA and its archaeologists in the professional sphere, always aiming to comply with the code of good practice and the principles defined for contract and research archaeology. ERA is the only European company member of the EAA as well as its only Portuguese institutional member.
