24/06/2024 - The 2024 excavation campaign begins at Perdigões

The 2024 excavation campaign at the Perdigões Archaeological Complex has begun. We will continue to investigate the central area of the site, in particular revealing the foundations of different wooden structures built there over several centuries.

Naturally, the main focus will be on the remains related to the ceremonial enclosure created by concentric circles of wooden posts. The image shows the first graphic reconstruction of this enclosure (published in the National Geographic Portugal magazine).
