26/09/2024 - ERA organises event dedicated to the Prehistoric Site of Vale Pincel (Sines)
The Prehistoric Site of Vale Pincel, in Sines, is one of the most important sites with Neolithic remains known on the Alentejo coast, being particularly important regarding research into that period in the western Iberian Peninsula.
As part of the Sines municipality's activities for European Heritage Days, ERA is organising an event dedicated to this archaeological site on September 27. It will have two components (see poster below).
The morning part, open to the public, is dedicated to the Vale Pincel site, a paradigmatic location where excavations have been carried out for decades to minimise heritage impacts from construction projects.
The afternoon, directed to professional guests, is dedicated to a workshop on geophysical prospecting techniques applied to archaeology and the remote detection of archaeological heritage.
A video dedicated to this site - another ERA production directed by Raul Losada (see below) - will also play at the Sines Museum in parallel with a small exhibition we produced for the museum.
