10/03/2025 - Issue 8 of ERA Monográfica, ‘Monte da Guarita 2’, has been published

Volume 8 of the ERA Monográfica series, entitled ‘Monte da Guarita 2: A hypogeum from the first half of the 3rd millennium BC’,  is out. Located in the parish of Pias, in the municipality of Serpa, this site was identified and excavated as part of the Minimisation of Impacts on Cultural Heritage resulting from the execution of the Pias Irrigation Blocks (Construction Phase) of the Alqueva project.

This publication summarises the fieldwork carried out, the complementary research and the integration of this context into the funerary practices of the Recent Prehistory of Southern Portugal carried out in hypogeum-type burials.
